La Crosse Logger and University of Evansville star, Derek Melton was injured in a swimming accident on Sunday afternoon.

(LA CROSSE, WI) La Crosse Loggers first baseman and Northwoods League All-Star Derek Melton was involved in a swimming accident on Sunday, August 3 at Pettibone Beach in La Crosse. After playing volleyball Melton ran down the sandy beach to the water to “cool off” and jumped into the water. Almost immediately he struck the sandy bottom which resulted in what is now being referred to as a neck or spine injury. Read the rest of this entry here>>>
